Modulation is everything. That is the idea behind the Core CO2 inflator. The dial regulator allows you to crack a cartridge to get just enough CO2 into your tube/tire to get it to take shape and allow you to make sure everything is seated properly. Once you know you are good to go, open the valve all the way and let 'er rip. The pull-out hose puts less stress on the valve. It's all very well hauling a giant pump around, but all that leverage can snap a delicate valve stem right off. This is a slimmer version of Blackburn's Core Pump that features a thread-on Presta-specific head with a short pull-out hose to give more options on where you pump from and fewer chances of your rippling muscles pulling the thing clean off. Prestacycle redesigned the Presta Grommet in May 2012 to fit to modern standards. PRestacycle's design works so well, it’s been copied by others including major floor pump makers. Prestacycle's design engages the Presta valve just below the cap threads and requires less insertion. The head is now very easy to get on and off, and gives a nice “click” feeling when it’s installed in the right position.
